Subscription and STYGION ID

The panel costs €4.90 a month. One subscription covers every panel on a single STYGION ID — whether you run one or eight, it is the same amount.

The first week from the install is free and needs nothing at all: no connection, no account, no card.

What the licence locks

One thing. Creating a new server.

These are the things it never locks, not when it expires and not when STYGION is down entirely:

signing in to the panel
the console
files and SFTP
backups, restores included
scheduled tasks
databases
start, stop, restart
deleting a server

What is running keeps running. If we could make you pay by switching your servers off, that would be a hostage rather than a product.

Linking a STYGION ID

In the panel: Admin → Subscription → Link a STYGION ID. (Before 0.3.0 it lived in account Settings, where it did not belong — it is a decision about the whole panel, not about one person.)

The panel shows an eight-character code. Sign in at stygion.eu, open your panel licence and type it in. The panel asks every three seconds and notices on its own — you do not have to come back and press anything.

The code is short-lived. When it expires, click again for a new one.

Reloading the page mid-pairing shows the same code, not a new one. Otherwise you would be typing in a number nobody is waiting for.

When the panel cannot reach us

The subscription is checked every six hours and the answer is written down. No screen ever waits on our servers — everything renders from what the panel already knows.

When it cannot reach us, the last known state stands for another fourteen days. Our outage is our problem, not yours. When even those fourteen days run out, the thing that locks is, again, only creating new servers.

The panel keeps two things apart that look alike and are not: "your subscription ran out" and "we could not reach STYGION". The subscription card says which one it is.

Unlinking

Admin → Subscription → Unlink. The panel forgets the token and carries on with what it last knew until that runs out — the same as when we are unreachable. Tidying up is not punished.

You can also unlink from the other side, at stygion.eu. The panel notices on its next check and says so.

Buying

The subscription cannot be bought from inside the panel yet — the shop on our side is not wired up. Until it is, we arrange it with people individually.
