Instances

The instance model, library, groups and per-instance settings.

Updated

Each game is its own instance — an isolated folder with a specific modpack, mods, settings and Java. Instances don't affect each other, so you can keep vanilla, a heavy modpack and a test copy side by side.

Library

  • Grid or list, sorting and quick search.
  • Groups (folders) — create, rename, delete, drag & drop an instance in.
  • Card size S / M / L with consistent scale.
  • Cards show the modpack logo (CurseForge/Modrinth), letter fallback.

Instance detail

Open an instance for tabs — overview, mods, logs and more. The key part is per-instance settings that override the global ones:

  • RAM — how much memory the instance gets.
  • Java — which version to use (the launcher manages it, see Troubleshooting).
  • JVM args — custom parameters for this instance.

Deleting

Deleting an instance removes the DB row and the on-disk folder — clean and complete.

In progress

  • World management — world list, backup/restore of a single world.
  • Screenshot manager — per-instance gallery.
  • Advanced groups — colors, cross-group sorting, pin.
  • Clone instance — duplicate in one click and test mods without breaking the original.
